Application Process

SIM is a faith mission -
missionaries raise their own prayer and financial support

If you would like to join the SIM team, there are two ways you can go:

Complete the Online Enquiry Form and we will send information to you via snail-mail.

Contact SIM Canada with your questions and we will endeavour to answer them.

Important Steps to Overseas Ministry
  • Contact SIM. Contact SIM Canada and let us know you want to explore the possibility of ministry with SIM
  • Get acquainted. Together we'll try to get a better understanding of how your skills, abilities, and desires for serving God fit with SIM's opportunities. An SIM Representative will try to meet with you and help to answer any questions you may have
  • Assessing the next step. When we sense that your spiritual maturity, training, and experience have prepared you for cross-cultural ministry, you'll be invited to complete an application

If you continue the process...

Member Missionary Applicants will need to:

  • Complete the application form and provide a list of references
  • Study and sign your endorsement of the SIM Manual
  • Have a complete medical and dental examination
  • Write a doctrinal assessment paper
  • Complete a psychological assessment
  • When you've completed steps 1 - 5 you'll be invited to attend SIM Candidate Orientation (SIMCO)
  • Following participation in SIMCO, candidates meet with their regional SIM Council, which makes the final decision concerning membership with SIM

If you continue the process...

Associate Missionary Applicants will need to :

  • Complete the application form and provide a list of references
  • Study and sign your endorsement of the Associate Handbook.
