The Children's Uplift Programme (CUP) is a small, developing project whose goal is to holistically meet the needs of homeless children and their mothers in Bangladesh.

CUP assists many homeless mothers from the time they are pregnant in order to help their children have a better beginning. Most of these mothers beg or sell sex to survive.

CUP runs a small drop-in centre where mothers and their children can wash, receive first aid, skills training, health teaching and education. Mothers receive a subsidized meal and children a free meal. They are supported to attend clinics and are given medication.

Suggested gift amounts
  • $8 helps a mother give birth safely in a clinic
  • $10 feeds a child lunch for a month
  • $12 provides a month's supply of necessary vitamins and iron tablets for 14 pregnant women
  • $58 provides 20 mothers with the materials they need to learn how to read
