An infant with AIDS is lovingly cared for during her final days on earth. A street boy in Ulaanbaatar gets another chance because he is not treated as a thief, but as a child of God. For the first time in their lives, children of prisoners in South America are singled out, not for shame or discrimination, but to shower them with the love of Jesus and to ensure their access to education.

SIM is deeply concerned for children around the world. From AIDS orphans to child brides, from street children to university students, all children long to feel the love of Jesus expressed to them through personal relationships with mature, caring adults. SIM and its local partners are reaching out to meet the needs of youth.

SIM is not only concerned with the mind, body and spirit of each child, it is also deeply interested in the context of family, church and community surrounding each one. For example, feeding programs for children who have survived the war in Liberia is not enough; communities must be restored in new ways that heal and prevent against the possibility of more war. It is not enough to provide pre-natal care to mothers in India, but teaching them to read will empower both them and their unborn children for years to come.

SIM is deeply concerned about education on many levels. Church leaders work together with SIM education specialists develop Christian curriculums and programmes to ensure that upcoming generations will learn to love God and His Word.
