Dr. Benjamin Platz is an SIM Missionary, working in the Canadian Field. He serves as the Executive Director of nightlight Canada, a charitable, para-church organization that mobilizes the Church to build relationships with the poor, lonely, and marginalized with the three-fold goal of making disciples, overcoming poverty, and bringing a witness to Jesus Christ within the wider community. Ben’s work with nightlight, begun in 2004, has led him to plant drop-in centres in Guelph, Kingston, Belleville, Cambridge (all in Ontario, Canada) and Lille, France. Ben has a passion for encouraging the Church to incarnate Jesus’ love for the poor and needy, empowering them to reach out to the “inconvenient others” in their midst. Ben lives in Kingston with his wife, Christa, and their children.
