Dale and Debbie Kenyon
We both accepted Christ 2 weeks apart when we were in our early 20’s. We were married and had two children. We were the first Christians in both families. After 3 years of growing in the Lord we felt His call on our lives to go into ministry. We knew nothing about raising support, mission agencies etc. We just left and headed off to Alaska. We volunteered to work in a branch off the Anchorage Rescue mission, a place called New Hope Centre. It was for Indians, Eskimos and Aleuts’ who had severe addictions. They gave us no money but let us live there. I think we grew the most that year as we watched the old couple we worked with (not really old as we are old now) pray and love these men. After one year of serving God in Alaska, God led me (Dale) to Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. I entered their aviation program and my wife and I both became pilots figuring we would do itinerate work back in Alaska. When I finally completed my schooling and raised support to go fulltime in ministry our Mission ask us to consider working in Canada with the Aboriginal people as very few people were. We prayed and waited on God and He opened the doors for us serve Him in Canada. We worked as church planters in Canada, India and now in Bolivia. Although our role here is with a new church plant, we presently are working with University students in Leadership training and mentoring and it is GREAT. We love what we do and feel very privileged to be working with SIM here. We have been serving the Lord for almost 40 years.
