Burkina Faso Crisis
Burkina Faso, a Sahel country bordering Mali and Niger, has been facing increasingly regular and deadly jihadist attacks for six years. The attacks first started in the north near the Mali border, and have spread to other regions, particularly in the east. On Friday, June 4 an overnight raid killed at least 160 civilians, including 20 children. Many displaced and affected people are moving toward Piela, a town where SIM has a presence, and is considered somewhat safe, but the town cannot sustain and provide for these extra people. Would you consider donating to help the crisis in Burkina Faso, pray for the end of Islamic extremism, and pray that affected people will come to know the love of Jesus. SIM Canada will be donating $10,000 from its Emergency Fund to this crisis. Would you consider making an additional donation to the Emergency Fund to add to this sum? The cost of an aid parcel [comprising 100 kg of grain, an SD card radio, sleeping mats, blankets, lamp, oil, and soap] for one displaced or affected family is $130.
