Phumi is a 9 year old girl living in rural north Zimbabwe. Since she was 5, each day, she walks for 4h on a dangerous road with her mom and sisters to bring water home. Even though she works her hardest, her best efforts could only bring dirty water back : no clean water is available. But when SIM's team drilled a well in her village, everything changed. Now she was safe, healthy, not so tired all the time and she had time to go to school. There she heard about an even better water : the one Jesus provides. It purifies not only her body, but her soul as well! Thousand of other kids could become healthy and hear about Jesus. When you give 50$, you ensure 1 family gets water for a whole month.

Phumi remembers that day very well. She was 9, and her baby brother Muzi, 2. Dirty water gave Muzi diarrhea for a week now and he was very feeble. Without clean water, the worst could happen. Phumi grabbed her bucket and started walking. An hour later, she reached a pond that seemed clean enough. She filled her bucket to the brink and started walking back home. It took her 2 hours, in scorching heat. She was exhausted when she came home, but that didn't stop her tears from flowing when she heard about her brother. Clean, close water could have changed everything.

Phumi was only nine years old, but each morning began the same way. Before the sun climbed high over rural northern Zimbabwe, she picked up her bucket and started walking. For four hours each day, she and her mother traveled dangerous roads in search of water. When they finally reached a pond, the water they carried home was often dirty, but it was all they had. One day, the consequences became painfully clear. Her two-year-old brother, Muzi, had been sick with diarrhea for days. As Phumi hurried home with another heavy bucket, she hoped it would help. Instead, she arrived to heartbreaking news. Without access to clean water, even a simple illness had become life-threatening. No child should have to wonder whether the water they bring home will help their family or harm them. But that wasn't the end of Phumi's story. When SIM's team drilled a well in her village, everything changed. Clean water was finally close to home. The long, dangerous walks ended. Phumi became healthier and stronger. She had time to attend school instead of spending hours each day collecting water. At school, she encountered another life-changing gift. She heard about the living water that Jesus offers, water that satisfies forever and brings new life. Today, thousands of children are still waiting for that same transformation. Your gift today helps provide clean water that protects families from preventable disease. It also opens doors for children and communities to hear the hope of the gospel. When you give $50, you help provide one family with clean water for an entire month. Give today, because every day a family waits is another day a child walks farther than they should, drinks water they shouldn't, and misses the opportunity for a healthier future.
