Hospital Quality Sustaining Fund
Maintaining quality and providing specialized services constantly requires:
(1) parts and repair for, or replacement and upgrading of equipment and infrastructure, at times on short notice,
(2) sometimes, critical supplies not available through national channels must be imported;
(3) training and technical assistance from foreign sources, either by sending staff abroad or bringing specialists to CEML. These three functions of “sustaining” the hospital’s quality and therefore ability to share the Gospel with patients from both ends of the economic spectrum, require foreign currency that CEML cannot obtain in Angola’s current economic situation. Thus, a “sustaining” support of donated foreign funds is needed.
