John Cassells
While the church has never been viewed as less relevant to Canadian society, SIM is helping to change that. With our help, churches are not only understanding their neighbours better, but giving them a place of belonging and a community where they can thrive. One of our key areas concerns on the Canadian field is the plight of street-involved youth. As a SIM missionary, John Cassells works directly with local churches to guide and support their efforts in ministering to these young people. John’s ministry experience among street youth spans three decades. John is a strong proponent of early intervention for at-risk kids, proactively building support into their lives. He specializes in developing programs and mobilizing teams. His expertise includes: at risk youth, addictions, homelessness, prostitution, human trafficking, outreach strategies, restorative care, safe practices and managing violent behaviour. He is passionate about helping churches accommodate lost youth; allowing them to explore the teachings of Jesus Christ in a safe and healing environment. John is available for preaching, consulting and training.
