Sahel Academy, in Niamey, Niger, allows many missionary families from around the world to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the Nigerien people while ensuring that their children are receiving an excellent education. The school serves SIM and many other missions.
In 2012 Sahel Academy experienced its first flood. However, in 2020 floodwaters broke through an exterior wall and surged onto campus. Much was saved but the school needed to rent alternative buildings for the 2020-2021 academic year. The initial intent was to return to the campus, but experts advised against this as extreme flooding was the anticipated norm for the river in the future.
So, a small property has been found, already developed, and close to move in ready that has the potential to house the whole school with room for some expansion and the possibility of purchasing additional land nearby. This project is raising funds to purchase this property.
