How We Serve

Go Deeper Into Your Calling.

Become a Global Worker

Make A Real Difference In This World and The One To Come

The Kingdom of Heaven is both here and not yet. Like you, our global workers had vocations and careers before they came to the missions field. They want to use their skillsets on the ground. Join us on a project and show the goodness of God and the need for Christ here in Canada and across the world.

Development as an
Expression of Discipleship

We participate in good work that transforms communities and hearts for Christ. Our projects are in sectors such as health care, food security, farming and sustainability, anti-human trafficking, education, business development and many more.

The fields are truly ripe for the harvest.

Join for a Term

There are several ways for you to go into the world as a global worker for SIM Canada.

Short-Term Mission

Shorter term assignments with SIM Canada are typically longer than three months but less than a year and are designed to help you advance the work happening and get a sense of what God is doing in that place.

Mid-Term Mission

Our mid-term assignments typically last one to two years and are designed to expand and strengthen ongoing work in ways that will make a profound difference while you engage with the local people.

Long-Term Mission

Our longer term assignments last at least two or more years and it’s where global workers go deep, building lasting relationships that can make a significant impact. If you feel called to a lifetime of service to God, then we’ll walk with you on this journey during a longer term of service.

Starting Your New Adventure

Apply

Fill out the inquiry form, then a member of our Mobilization team will contact you to guide you through the application process. We know that our application is extensive. It’s designed this way because we want to get to know you and your heart and ensure this is the right fit.

Attend SIMStart

Our three-day onsite event is where you learn more about SIM, talk with SIM staff and volunteers and come away with where God may be leading you to serve.

Prepare For the Journey

Successful global work requires having the best support team. Through our Relationship Development Ministry (RDM) training, you’ll learn how to raise your support, share with your community about the work you’ll do, and show them how best to pray for you.

Part of your preparation may include learning a new language. We’ll guide you through the language learning process so you’ll be ready once you arrive.

Begin Your Project

Your new SIM colleagues will welcome you into your project once you land. They’ll help you get acclimated and integrated into the local community where you’ll be serving. And we at SIM Canada will provide ongoing member care, ensuring you’ll be supported every step of the way.

Return from Your Term

During Home Assignments and at the end of your term, you’ll hang with us at the Canadian office. We’ll debrief on your experience, provide health evaluations and help you begin the adjustment back home.
