Ana's Story

Anna and her mother tell her story.

Anna's mother:

When she became ill, she was talking about strange things at night. We prayed with her, and the next day took her to the church for prayers, for two months. Then we took her to Rio da Huila for tests; she had malaria, but the doctor suspected another illness and sent her for Chest X-rays. She had to travel to the city to get the Xrays. She had tuberculosis and started treatment. She suffered from malaria many times and suffered from these strange behaviors of speaking loudly and being agitated. With that she had high blood pressure. Which was strange at her age, and she needed a good treatment.

Ana:

I really thank God for what He did for me from what was happening to me until now. Before I was sick, I was going to church with my parents. I would pray but it was only words. I did not think that prayer did anything. Now when I pray, I am attentive because now I know God exists. Because He did something in my life, I want to follow Him. If it wasn’t for Him, I could not have made it to today. Now that I am in the church, I am walking with God. Now what I feel inside is my faith in Him.

The first time I was taken to Rio da Huila for treatment for Tuberculosis I was just went because that is where my parents took me. The second time, I was really glad I was going to a Christian hospital.

During the second treatment for tuberculosis at Rio da Huila, I started classes in catechism class in preparation for baptism. Now I have more faith in God. I trust Him.
