Salt And Light As Mechanics (SALAM) aims to train disadvantaged young men to become productive members of their communities through vocational and moral/spiritual education. After a common three-month course, students specialize in welding, house-wiring, or motor mechanics, while receiving spiritual teaching and reinforcement of moral behavior.
