John Denbok

An entrepreneur at heart, John has built businesses in the agri-food, and land development sectors. Now, the Executive Director of SIM Canada, John is passionate about seeing people grow in Christ and use their gifts for God’s glory, especially in missions.

Brad Farquhar (Board Chair)

Brad co‐founded Input Capital and serves as a Director, Executive Vice‐ President and Chief Financial Officer in Regina, SK. He was previously Vice‐President of Assiniboia Farmland GP3 Corp., Assiniboia Farmland Holdings LP, Assiniboia Farmland LP, and Palliser Farmland Management Corp. Brad has served on the SIM Canada board since 2010.

Mike Sherbino (Vice-Chair)

Mike brings over 35 years of pastoral experience across Canada and has recently planted Northend Church in St Catharines. Mike hosts a live radio program on WDCX- 99.5 called Open Mic. He also has a national TV program aired on Vision TV called “Transformation.” Married to Terrie - they are parents to 5 daughters, 2 son in laws and 2 granddaughters. Mike has served on the SIM Canada board since 2013.

Rod Russell (Treasurer)

Rod is a partner at the Accountant Firm Norton McMullen in Toronto, ON.  He has a special interest and experience in the accounting, taxation and unique issues related to not-for-profit organizations as well as in scientific research and experimental development. Rod has served on the SIM Canada board since 1986.

Eric Reynolds

Eric Reynolds (MBA) is the co-founder of Mobile Escape with locations in Calgary and Edmonton, AB. This is a company that brings escape rooms to you! Mobile Escape exists to awaken wonder in people of all ages. Eric has served on the SIM Canada board since 2017.

Gordon Stanton

Gordon Stanton is a Manager at MNP in Burlington, ON. As a CPA, Gordon incorporates holistic practices into every aspect of his work. He helps organizations realize operational efficiencies and achieve their own mandates, while ensuring they are compliant with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. He wants to see organizations use their resources to impact the world for God. Gordon has served on the SIM Canada board since 2017.

Joy Tira

Joy is the Lausanne Movement’s Senior Associate for Diasporas, and chairperson for the Global Diaspora Network (GDN). Joy is a missions practitioner who travels extensively mobilizing Christians in diaspora, particularly the globally scattered Filipinos to help fulfill the Great Commission. Joy has served on the SIM Canada board since 2006.

John Steadman

John serves as the Advancement Officer of McMaster Divinity College and brings his passion for fundraising and relationship building to the SIM Board.  Formerly a small church Pastor, John finds that fundraising shares many of the same Pastoral skills, and he enjoys helping donors feel connected and appreciated.  When not working, John can often be found scuba diving on Great Lakes shipwrecks, or volunteering his photographic skills as head photographer for the Honda Indy Toronto and the Royal Winter Fair.

Gary Coghill

Gary has worked in the agriculture industry for over 20 years with a background in agricultural economics.  Currently, he is the purchasing manager for Dutch Industries, an equipment manufacturer located just outside of Regina, SK.  Gary is a supporter of the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement Course in Regina and has served as the coordinator since 2006.

Eliane Santschi 

Sam Owusu 

Dr. Sam Owusu is the founder and senior pastor of Calvary Worship Center, an international church comprising of over 110 nations, the largest multi-cultural church in the world. Sam is a national and international speaker on culture and change, and a regular conference speaker for the Billy Graham Association. He is also an adjunct professor at Trinity Western University and Ambrose University. Sam has written several books including Fresh Fire, Spiritual Warfare, When God’s People Pray and Dream Again. He is married to Rosemond and they have three children.

Phil Ruten

Phil has served at Millar College of the Bible for the past 27 years, 20 of those years as President. He loves working with college students. He has been blessed by a long family heritage in SIM. He spent the first 18 years of life living primarily on Burkina Faso. His parents served there for 38 years. He is married to Esther. They have four children, two of whom are married, and they enjoy nine grandchildren.
