Peggy and Stephen have been in Angola for 47 years, where they raised their four children. Stephen has had a lifelong vision to care for the rurally-disadvantaged people of Angola who make up an estimated 45% of the 37 million inhabitants. The CEML (Centro Evangelico de Medicina do Lubango) hospital opened its doors 19 yrs ago and Stephen began training Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons to become generalist surgeons, capable of functioning in District Hospitals in 2024. The first group of graduates is the class of 2029. Stephen is also spearheading the expansion project to double the bed and surgical capacity of CEML. Peggy has been involved in giving piano lessons, teaching music to students in a small international school, from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Interactions with the students are one of the highlights of her life. Peggy also has led Bible studies for over 30 years. She now leads a multigenerational group that continues to expand! Hospitality has always been a part of her life and she delights to make visitors feel welcomed and at ease.
